Minimize risk and gain a competitive advantage
Today, door hardware installers are tasked with retrofitting existing fire doors with enhanced features such as access controls and electrified hardware. Whatever the installation approach, with few exceptions, field preparations made to a factory original fire door or frame voids the fire rating. Through participation in Intertek's Qualified Personnel (IQP) Hardware Installer Program you can gain significant advantage over your competitors by becoming certified to properly prepare for specific lock and accessory installations on Intertek labeled fire doors without voiding the door's fire resistance rating.

Once you are certified with ASSA ABLOY and approved by Intertek, you will be added to the list of IQP Hardware Installers and you will be able to purchase supplemental Intertek Hardware Installer labels for application on altered doors in the field. This label alerts the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) or Fire Door Inspector that the work has been done by an IQP Hardware Installer under a program that is in compliance with the guidelines of NFPA 80's 'label service program'.
